Introducing Department of Civil Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, started its activities in September 1975. The Civil Engineering Department, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, began its activities in 1979. Every year, this department admits more than 70 young and talented students. Since 1989, the CE department at the FUM has admitted students in structural, hydraulic, water resources, transportation, geotechnical and environmental engineering and since 2013 it has admitted students in other specializations such as construction management, earthquake engineering, remote sensing and geospatial information systems. Since 1998, due to potential research facilities and experienced faculty, the CE department began to admit PhD students in hydraulic, structural, geotechnical, transportation and environmental engineering and the first PhD student of CE department was graduated in 2005. Since the establishment, the CE department has achieved the training of many engineers and specialists in the country by benefiting from prominent professors and the necessary facilities in the field of education and research. The special importance put on the quality of education and research has made it possible for the graduates of this department to enjoy high positions in higher education, research and industry and to achieve high positions in scientific and practical competitions.
